Job Summary
UNO Energies Zambia Limited is looking for a qualified Civil Engineer to join the team as we build Service stations across Zambia.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Study the design of service station. Make BOQ for the site and build the outlet as per the given drawings by Architects.
• Contribute his/her suggestions on building design, structural design, compaction of land, Block test etc.
• Assess strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel by testing materials and soil.
• Set design specifications by computing load and grade requirements, material stress factors, water flow rates, and similar parameters.
• Plan projects based on the analysis of relevant materials such as drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data.
• Draft and present reports on topics related to projects such as environmental impact statements and right-of-way descriptions.
• Estimate materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs.
• Collaborate with architects and contractors to ensure projects progress properly.
• Collaborate with surveyors (or directs and participates in surveying) to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors that will affect construction.
• Monitor project progress and ensure design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
• Follow the Gantt Chart for the project progress and submit regular report to his/her line manager
• On completion of a project, inspects, repairs, and maintains the structures as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities
• Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
• Previous experience of onsite and hands on service station construction is a must.
• Thorough understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, roads, and other related structures.
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations related to assigned projects.
• Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be both creative and analytical.
• Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Certified with EIZ Authority
• 5-7 Years experience in a similar industry is a must

Physical Requirements
• He/she needs to be on site for everyday, working closely with contractors
• Must be able to travel to various project sites.
• Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
• Adaptable with various environment condition and can stay for long periods at site locations

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
