Job description:
Specific Job Responsibility
• Operate the vehicle within the rules and regulations of the relevant work site.
• Constantly monitor vehicle operation and report faults to the supervisor/manager and/or the workshop.
• Ensure vehicle is well maintained.
• Complete and submit all required documentation.
• Report consistently on achievement of required tasks.
• Drive an assigned vehicle to transport individuals and/or materials to and from various human service locations, work sites, educational institutions, medical facilities and other locations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the assigned vehicle.
• Assist passengers in getting in and out of vehicles and other courtesies.
• Assist passengers in securing wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
• Report to the supervisor/manager, receive and discuss daily directives.
• Operate vehicle to required standards.
• Perform any duties as and when assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.

• Ensure that the person, operation, passengers and vehicles are safe.
• Contribute to team performance.
• Perform allocated tasks as required.
• Must be able to operate a van or small bus.
• Must be able to constantly monitor and respond to safety warnings and instrumentation whilst operating vehicle.
• Ensuring compliance with all road safety procedures, rules and regulations.
• Ability to observe all work rules and regulations.

Experience required to perform in this job
The Driver will require knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Good navigation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of basic health and safety rules.
• Knowledge of First Aid.
• Advanced driving skills.
• Knowledge of basic automotive maintenance procedures.

Qualifications
• Full Grade Twelve (12) school certificate
• Valid driver’s license (with at least 2 years’ experience)
