JOB DETAILS:
Job description
Main Purpose:
It is the responsibility of the Aviation Operations Department to maintain our license to operate by ensuring that the products sold are handled and stored such that they meet the required mandated standards, and the facilities are designed to conform to all PUMA stringent standards, local legislation and the latest HSSE standards and that the airports are managed efficiently and safely.
The Airport Refuelling Operator (ARO) is required to carry out all day to day tasks required to safely, effectively and efficiently operate the fuel storage facility and into-plane activity whilst maintaining the PUMA ENERGY Quality Control and Operating Standards. The ARO operates sophisticated, high cost mobile and fixed equipment in carrying out these tasks.
The ARO is the front-line contact with the customer and Airport authorities. The ARO must promptly respond to the fuelling requirements of PUMA ENERGY’s customers
In the absence of the Airport Supervisor he/she assumes those responsibilities normally assigned to the Airport Supervisor.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:
• HSE
• The AO must be HSSE minded and work safely at all times.
• The AO works within a team and therefore his actions and behaviours will impact on others.
• The AO must be fully conversant and comply with all Company and Legislated HSE requirements which apply to the Airfield Operation.
• The AO must strictly adhere to the PUMA Rules for Operators.
• The AO must report all unsafe acts and conditions and near misses to his / her Supervisor at all times.
• The AO must acknowledge that Working Safely is a condition of Employment.
• QUALITY CONTROL
• Visual inspection and control checks on incoming material, including the checking of seals on vehicles if present.
• Discharge into storage.
• Release of product into Fuellers and Hydrants.
• Sampling of aviation products.
• Maintaining records of stock/quality/equipment checks as appropriate.
• OPERATIONS & ASSURANCE
The Airport Operator (AO) is responsible for completing documentation of the various tasks performed and recording results. This includes,
• Operational tasks.
• Maintenance tasks.
• Stock control.
• Sales delivery tickets.
• Incident reports.
• Defect reporting.

The AO is responsible for performing card and cash transactions. He/she is responsible for capturing, in most cases on a computer, sales transactions
On most occasions the AO is the person who the customer sees first and therefore the AO is responsible for presenting himself and PUMA appropriately
The Aviation Fuelling Operator (AO) is responsible for carrying out the day to day operational tasks safely, effectively and efficiently. The AO receives fuel into storage, looks after the day to day storage and handling procedures, loads refuelling vehicles and refuels aircraft
The AO is responsible to perform all tasks in accordance with the site Operating Standards. The AO operates sophisticated, high cost mobile and fixed equipment in carrying out these tasks.
At a typical airport, these basic operating tasks are, but not limited to
• Fuel receiving
• Storage and handling
• Preventative Maintenance
• Fueller filling
• Driving
• Product Quality
• Aircraft refuelling
• FIXED AND MOBILE PLANT MAINTENANCE
At the direction of the Depot Manager or the Duty Supervisor, the AO will carry out such tasks as are necessary in the day to day running of the facility. These include but are not limited to:
• Equipment maintenance.
• Miscellaneous tasks within the Depot.
• Cleaning of fixed and mobile equipment.
• General housekeeping tasks.

Requirements:
Experience:
• Craft Certificate in technical field (Automotive, Auto-Electrical, Mechanical, Electrical etc).
• Heavy Duty Driving Licence (Zambia Class CE or equivalent – at least 2 years old)
• Work experience in a technical field including on airport work is an added advantage.
• Aircraft refuelling skills are not freely available in the market therefore the individual will be trained for a minimum period of 6 months before being certified as competent.:
HSE minded.

Skills:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, safety standards, operating procedures and regulations would be an advantage.
• Local Language and Good English communication skills,

• Internal – Airport Supervisor, Airport Depot Manager, Country Aviation Operations Manager, Country Aviation Business Manager. Country HSE, Business Support and Supply Manager and Country HR
• External –Customers, Vendors and service providers:
