JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary
• The Site Engineer typically has the responsibility of ensuring the successful and efficient execution of construction projects by balancing technical expertise with effective communication and project management skills. Under the guidance and direction of the Managing Director, the post holder is responsible for overseeing various aspects of construction related projects including but not limited to, preparation of bidding documents, attendance of site visits, project management, site supervision, quality control, safety compliance, team collaboration and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
• Contribute to the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with project managers and other stakeholders.
• Regularly inspect construction sites to ensure work is progressing according to plans, specifications, and quality standards
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, subcontractors, and other team members to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration.
• Implement and oversee quality control procedures to ensure that construction work meets specified standards and regulations.
• Enforce and promote safety protocols to create a secure working environment. Conduct safety inspections and address any concerns promptly.
• Manage the procurement and use of construction materials, ensuring they meet required specifications and are used efficiently.
• Address and resolve technical issues that may arise during construction, providing solutions to unforeseen challenges.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of project activities, including daily reports, weekly progress updates, and any changes or deviations.
• Monitor project expenses, analyze costs, and contribute to accurate cost estimation. Work to ensure that the project stays within budget.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and permits. Obtain necessary approvals and permits for construction activities.
• Interface with clients to provide project updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with the progress and outcome of the construction projects.
• Actively identify and address challenges or conflicts that may arise, fostering a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Member of EIZ
• Minimum 2 years post qualification experience including at least one year as a site
engineer on a major construction project.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft projects and excel)
• Member of EIZ Knowledge and skills
• Ability to take responsibility and handle pressure.
• Sharp memory and attention to detail
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills
• Skilled and vibrant communicator
• Successful goal setting, follow-up and achievement of goals
