Vacancy Advertisement: Supply Chain Superitendent – Fs (Fixed Term)
Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Supply Chain Superintendent (Fixed Term) to join the versatile Supply Chain Department under Mineral Resource Management – FS Section. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Feasibility Manager, your will be responsible for managing the process of storage, replenishment and distribution of all inventory and direct charge materials in a manner that ensures timely provision to customers, at the same time maintaining inventories at optimum levels.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Manage warehouse and inventory activities to comply with safety regulations, company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
• Provide timely and efficient warehouse and inventory services that strive to meet and exceed customer expectations and deadlines.
• Provide accurate advice to FS personnel on warehouse and inventory matters.
• Provide in a timely manner all documentation as agreed with customers and external parties.
• Be an active participant within the supply team and assist with the achievement of the sections goals.
• Develop methods of delivering a consistent and quality service to all customers.
• Develop and maintain procedures for all warehouse and inventory activities.
• Constantly review work practices to ensure the optimal use of warehouse and inventory systems is being achieved.
• Establish systems and practices to ensure LMC/FS catalogue meets AUSLANG cataloguing standards.
• Provide regular reports to enable effective management of the warehouse and inventory key performance activities.
• Be frugal in the use of both Capital and OPEX funds
• Implement cost effective warehouse and inventory strategies within the company
• Apply quality standards and practices to all aspects of the job in accordance with the world’s best practice.
• Accountable for completion of all tasks identified in the Management Operating System (MOS) to the specified quality and timelines as assigned to this role
• Develop, implement, and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness. Promote and comply with the LMC Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
• Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the team.
• Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures, and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.
• Maintain and develop relationships with stakeholders in FS project, consistent with Barrick’s Community Relations Policies.
• Become actively involved in Barrick’s aims and objectives of engaging with the local community and strive to leave a positive impact on the longer-term outcomes for local people.
• Prepare and manage the budget for the function.
• Ensure the development and maintenance of up-to-date job procedures for all tasks performed within the function.
• Develop objectives for sharing common infrastructure and support services across Barrick and cascade this throughout function.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Grade 12 certificate
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Procurement Management
• Significant experience (10 years) in Warehouse management and supply, preferably in the mining environment.
• Have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of warehouse management principles and practice.
• Experience in the use of a recognised CMMS preferably SAP.
• Competent in a computerised Inventory Control or Warehouse Management System.
• Proven track record in safe storage of dangerous goods.
• Extensive experience in P2P processes.
• Able to clearly demonstrate the aptitude to drive a light vehicle and hold a current Zambian drivers licence or be able to obtain one.
• Be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and show a commitment to understand local culture and impart your mining operations and technical knowledge to the local Zambian mine operations personnel.
• Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
• Experience in managing costs and budgeting
• Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
