JOB DETAILS:
Job description:
Purpose of the Role:
Train and assess Process Operations personnel to improve the performance of the business by improving performance of employees through enhancing of knowledge, skills and attitudes. Train and assess Analytical Laboratory personnel to perform sampling and analysis on Plant Control, Environmental, Metallurgical Accounting, Oil, InterLab and Daily Metal Sale samples as per internal procedures with regard to current ISO standards.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;
• Developing of role specific training paths.
• Developing training materials in accordance with FQML standards.
• Scheduling training events in INX as requested by the client.
• Conduct field, classroom and e-learning training.
• Manage trainees that have reported for training.
• Conduct theory and practical assessments in line with the assessment guideline.
• Carry out assessments and ensure issuance of relevant certifications
• Conducting training needs assessment.
• Manage both physical and electronic training records.
• Implement training and assessment schedules.
• Ensure safe operation of all equipment under trainers’ supervision.
• Conducting planned task observations [PTOs].
• Ensuring training objectives are met.
• Ensuring Safety and Environmental incidents are report promptly.
• Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Specific Competencies:
• Knowledge of Analytical Laboratory Quality Systems.
• Must have hands-on experience performing different types of analyses.
• Experience in a mineral processing plant with Gyratory Crushing, Cone Crushing, SAG Milling, Ball Milling, Flotation, Thickening and Filtering.
• Mining regulations knowledge.
• Training needs assessment skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of current ISO standards.
• Communication skills with good command of the English language.
• Training material and assessment documents development.
• Mentoring and coaching skills.
• Presentation and facilitation skills.
• Excellent organizational and report writing.
• Knowledge in basic health and safety.
• Knowledge of training event coordination.
• Knowledge of e-learning platforms.
• Good planning skills.

• At least 3 years’ working experience in an analytical lab.
• Mining industry experience preferred.
• At least 2 years work experience as a trainer & assessor.

• Full grade twelve (G12) school certificate.
• Minimum of Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing or any related field.
• Minimum of Diploma in Training and Development or related field (Teaching Methodology or equivalent).
• Training professional registered with TEVETA is an added advantage.
