Position Summary:
Ciheb Zambia is seeking a dedicated and energetic individual for the position of DREAMS Site Connector in Chipata. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in recruiting Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) to participate in the DREAMS initiative. This role involves collaborating with community members to establish safe spaces and providing support to DREAMS Mentors in ensuring the successful implementation of program activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Recruit AGYW from communities to enroll in DREAMS safe spaces.
• Collaborate with project sub-grantees and community leaders to identify safe space venues.
• Support the DREAMS Site Coordinators with day-to-day management of the centers (e.g., filing documents, re-stocking supplies, and handling administrative tasks).
• Provide support to DREAMS Mentors running safe spaces and ensure they deliver quality services that meet AGYW needs.
• Act as a focal point between DREAMS Centers and other facilities for referring AGYW to services not available at the Center.
• Conduct home visits to follow up with AGYW who do not attend safe space meetings regularly.
• Sensitize parents and community members about the DREAMS initiative.
• Provide psychosocial counseling, rapid HIV testing, and facilitate linkages for treatment and prevention services such as PrEP and family planning.
Qualifications:
• Must reside within the site for easy travel to DREAMS Centers and Safe Spaces.
• Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education, Social Science, or a health-related diploma.
• Psychosocial Counseling Certificate and competence in Rapid HIV Testing.
• Must be between 25 and 35 years old.
• Assertive, energetic, and proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
Work Experience:
• Experience as a community mobilizer, school teacher, community volunteer, school club leader, or in a similar leadership role.
• Good community facilitation skills
• Able to work with minimal supervision
Required Attributes and Competencies:
• Empathetic, devoted, and respectful individual with strong interpersonal communication, team-building, and writing skills.
