Anchor Health Partners (AHP) is a local Zambian non-governmental organization dedicated to improving maternal and child health in underserved communities. Position Summary
The Health Program Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing Anchor Health Partners’ maternal and child health resourcing programs. This role focuses on strengthening health systems in underserved areas by ensuring the effective coordination of high-quality medical resource delivery, capacity-building initiatives, and fostering community engagement. The ideal candidate will excel in operational coordination and demonstrate exceptional organizational, analytical, and relationship management skills to ensure program success.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination
• Coordinate health programs focused on maternal and child health, ensuring alignment with Anchor Health Partners’ mission.
• Manage the planning, execution, and monitoring of medical equipment and supply distribution initiatives.
Partnership Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with health facilities, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations to facilitate effective program delivery.
• Manage existing partnerships and ensure their alignment with program goals to expand access to health resources and services in underserved areas.
Coordination of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)
• Collaborate with external MEL specialists or consultants to operationalize frameworks for measuring program impact and outcomes.
• Ensure timely collection, analysis, and reporting of program data by coordinating with field teams and external partners.
• Utilize data insights to guide program improvements and share impact stories with stakeholders.
Coordination of Capacity Building
• Identify capacity-building needs for health facility staff, particularly in areas such as equipment usage, maintenance, and inventory systems.
• Coordinate high-quality training sessions and workshops delivered by technical experts.
• Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Resource Mobilization and Logistics
• Coordinate with international and local partners to procure medical equipment and supplies of the highest quality.
• Oversee logistics, including shipping, customs clearance, and distribution of health resources to facilities.
• Ensure the effective utilization and maintenance of resources by recipient facilities.
Community Engagement
• Engage with community leaders and health workers to identify local health needs and adapt existing programs to meet those needs.
• Promote awareness of maternal and child health programs to drive community participation and ownership.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration and trust among diverse stakeholders.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to use data insights to improve program effectiveness and measure impact.
• Adaptability and resourcefulness to address challenges in low-resource settings and deliver sustainable solutions.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in public health, international development, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in maternal and child health or a related field.
• Experience working in low-resource settings and managing multi-stakeholder projects.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel, and MS Office Suite
• Proficiency in program monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
• Understanding of medical equipment and/or supply chain logistics.
• Fluency in English and one or more local languages (Nyanja, Bemba, etc).
Work Environment
Based in Lusaka, Zambia with frequent travel to rural health facilities and communities.
