JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:
• Assess environmental impacts of mining, concentrator, engineering, and associated surface activities and provide expert guidance and advice to the mine to minimize the adverse impacts and ensure compliance to various statutory legislation on water, air, and waste management.
• To Implement and monitor environmental management system
• To monitor compliance and implementation of the Environmental Management Plan in accordance with the timetable contained in the Environmental Management Plan.
• Permits & license compliance (Legal) monitoring
• Projects and Environmental studies- Diagnostic analysis of scientific data required for advancement of a new projector modification of an existing one.
• Monitor changes in the regulatory environment and ensure that appropriate operational controls are implemented to address new requirements.
• Ensure biodiversity monitoring is done bi-annually
• Environmental Risk Facilitation.
• Track compliance to Environmental Management EMS requirements as specified in ISO 14001.
• Tracking, evaluating, and reporting on programs under resource efficiency plan against set targets.
• Tracking and reporting against set targets in Environmental strategic plan
• Drive the health, safety and environment standards/policy awareness and practice in the Department to ensure compliance.
• Environmental incident investigation (CAT 3 and above).
• Projects and Environmental studies- Diagnostic analysis of scientific data required for advancement of a new projector modification of an existing one.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
• BSc degree in Environmental, Ecology, Forestry, Environmental management, or equivalent science degree
• Five years experiences in Environmental Management
• Ability to communicate clearly to all levels of the organization
• Two years of broad industrial experience in developing and implementing an EMS in large organization preferably in a mining industry
• Team management skills; Good interpersonal skills, Influencing & communication skills, Planning, coordination and controlling skills
