JOB DETAILS:
The desired candidates will be responsible for:
• Assessing and Enrolling individuals or couples into research studies and obtain informed consent according to ICH-GCP guidelines.
• Effectively treat common illnesses in both HIV-infected and non-infected participants
• Perform physical exams on participants when indicated and monitor vital signs and measurements.
• Effectively counsel participants in family planning and demonstrate competency in insertions & removals of LARC methods (particularly copper IUDs and implants)
• Sympathetically counsel participants during times of stress
• Respect the confidentiality of participants and data at all times.
• Collection of blood and other research samples when indicated
• Administration of trial medication
• Participants’ follow-up activities
• Reporting any protocol deviation immediately to the PI or their designee
• Performance of quality control of study activities
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
The ideal qualifications for this role are listed below:
• Degree or Diploma in nursing with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia or Zambia Counselling Council
• Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience.
• Must be able to learn new procedures and follow standard operating procedures whilst adhering to Good Clinical Practice.
• Demonstrates strong communication skills, ability to manage time and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to communicate in English and one or more local languages
• Experience in public health research or clinical trials will be an added advantage.
• Certificate in Good Clinical Practice will be an added advantage. The successful applicant will still undergo GCP training at the site
• Demonstrated experience in working with key populations.
• Maintain appropriate working relationships between study team member
• Ability to work in a team as well as independently
• Computer literacy
• Must be willing to work long hours
