JOB DETAILS:
Our client is a leading financial institution seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial accounting processes of the organization, including tax-related services.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare financial statements and reports for the organization in accordance with accounting principles and standards.
• Manage and reconcile bank accounts, including performing regular audits of accounts.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Oversee the month-end closing process, including the preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments within the organization to provide financial information and analysis to support business decisions.
• Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and property tax.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Assist with tax planning and forecasting.
• Provide guidance and support to other departments on tax-related matters.
• Assist with internal and external audits.

Requirements:
• Level II ACCA, ZICA, CIMA; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 – 4 years of experience in financial accounting and tax-related services.
• Knowledge in financial institutions, related regulations and pastel accounting package will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), International financial reporting standards (IFRS), and tax laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with financial reporting systems and software. (working knowledge of pastel accounting package will be an added advantage)
