Job Purpose
This function supports the development and implementation of applications. This role works with architects, data analysts and business analysts to accept requirements, and participates in the full development process lifecycle from concept through testing, implementation, and support using the Agile development methodologies.
This role requires a programmer with a keen eye for design. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the alignment of web design and user experience requirements, optimizing web pages for maximum efficiency, and maintaining brand consistency across all web pages and apps for both internal and external use, among other duties. Front-end Development Senior Specialist will be required to work in teams alongside back end developers and marketing teams to ensure all elements of web creation are consistent.
The Front-end Development Senior Specialist role requires one to be a team player with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills in addition to experience in Agile frameworks and popular technologies.

Under the supervision of the Enterprise Systems Architect Head, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:
• Determining the structure and design of web pages.
• Ensuring user experience determines design choices.
• Striking a balance between functional and aesthetic design.
• Ensuring web design is optimized for smartphones.
• Building reusable code for future use.
• Write well-structured code that is easy to maintain and understand.
• Utilizing a variety of markup languages to write web pages.
• Maintaining brand consistency throughout the design.
• Create wireframes and mockups of site/application designs
• Author technical documentation
• Optimize code for performance, ensuring fast loading times and smooth user experiences.
• Ensure that the applications work consistently across different web browsers and devices, and test and debug code to address any compatibility issues that may arise.
• Build applications that adapt and work well across different devices and screen sizes.
• Ensure that the websites and applications are responsive.
• Provide pre-built components and efficient ways to manage the state of an application.
• Use CSS preprocessors like Sass or Less to enhance CSS with variables and functions. Hence, making stylesheets more maintainable and reusable.
• Create a positive user experience by ensuring intuitive and user-friendly interfaces. Also, consider factors such as accessibility and interactivity to enhance user experience.
• Eagerness to continuously learn new skills and techniques to improve their craft and deliver cutting-edge solutions.
• Design mobile-based features
• Create quality mockups and prototypes
• Help back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting
• Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency
• Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies
• Provides input and recommendations to project leadership and team members regarding applications systems analysis, design, development, and implementation.
• Create, implement and maintain a continuous improvement plan for software development
• Continuously improve systems and solutions
• Making technical recommendations to business in order to automate and make processes efficient or improve customer experience.
• Work with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues.
• Work with experienced team members to review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.
• Work with experienced team members to develop solutions.
• Any other responsibilities or tasks as maybe assigned by management.

Requirements
Qualifications And Experience
• Grade 12 Certificate with Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology / Software Engineering or any other relevant field
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in software development with bias towards mobile and web apps
• Experience in Banking is an added advantage
• Agile project management experience
