Position Overview
The Data Analyst, Risk and Compliance Officer is responsible for evaluating, monitoring, and managing the risk and compliance activities within the organization. This role involves analyzing large sets of data to identify potential business opportunities or risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.

Key Responsibilities
• Data Analysis:
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that could pose risks to the organization.
Analyze data and advise management on business trends and how the company could meet its sales goals
Utilize statistical methods and data mining techniques to extract actionable insights from raw data.
Develop predictive models to forecast potential risks and their impact on the organization.
Risk Management:
Assess and prioritize risks based on their potential impact and likelihood of occurrence.
Develop risk mitigation strategies and controls to minimize the impact of identified risks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement risk management initiatives and monitor their effectiveness.
Compliance Monitoring: Monitor regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies to ensure compliance across all business activities. Develop and implement compliance monitoring processes.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and compliance status to the CEO and stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records of risk assessments, compliance activities, and audit findings.
Training and Education:
Provide training and guidance to employees on risk management best practices, compliance requirements, and internal policies.
Foster a culture of compliance awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
Policy Development: Assist in the development, review, and enhancement of risk management and compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Data Governance: Establish and maintain data governance frameworks to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data used in risk and compliance activities.
Training and Education: Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on risk management principles, compliance obligations, and best practices.
Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls. Monitor the effectiveness of controls and adjust as necessary.

Qualifications
• Degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or Risk Management.
Proven experience in data analysis, risk management, and compliance, preferably in a regulated industry such as finance or telecommunications.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., MTN and ZANACO) and industry best practices related to risk management and compliance.
Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders.
Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
