JOB DETAILS:
PURPOSE
This exciting opportunity exists in Fraser Alexander Zambia to install, maintain, and repair plant equipment chutes and steel pipes according to drawings. This role also includes carrying out all fabrication work and ensuring the proper care and maintenance of all welding equipment in the mechanical section.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance and Fabrication
• Punctual adherence to site-specific time schedules/shift times.
• Attend safety talks.
• Complete tasks as per issued job cards.
• Safekeeping of tools.
• Implement maintenance schedules.
• Maintain and repair all mechanical equipment (pipelines/draw boxes/safety guards/screens, etc.).
• Plan for material and manpower to assist with jobs.
• Fabricate general steelwork.
• Repair and fabricate new and existing pipelines.
• Fabricate safety guards.
• Fabricate general plant equipment as needed.
Health and Safety
• Follow written safe work procedures.
• Wear the correct PPE for each specific task.
• Ensure that all safety procedures and site emergency procedures are followed as per training and site-specific standards.
• Ensure emergency preparedness among all team members.
• Report and record unsafe acts, conditions, and incidents.
• Participate in all training-related activities.
Inspection and Reporting
• Identify and prioritize equipment in need of maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct plant inspections of all equipment/tools and report defaults in the area of responsibility.
• Report all faults and problems to the Foreman.
Housekeeping
• Practice good housekeeping around all work areas.
• Clean tools and store equipment properly.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.
• Craft Certificate in Boilermaking.
• Valid EIZ Membership.

EXPERIENCE
• At least 3 years experience in the maintenance and repairs of mechanical equipment.
