JOB DETAILS:
PURPOSE
This exciting opportunity exists in Fraser Alexander Zambia to supervise the execution of the contractual activities on remining projects while upholding the company standard, assisting in planning activities, organising resources, leading people, and controlling risks, costs, and deviations. To ensure the achievement of the mining plan in respect of quality, productivity, efficiency, and financial requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations
• Allocate and schedule resources (Plant/Materials/Labour).
• Identify risks associated with resources and take preventative measures.
• Execute deposition or mining plans as per operating procedures and the Code of Good Practice for the Tailings Storage Facility.
• Ensure proper handover of activities or shifts.
• Ensure daily or shift production targets are met.
• Record and report daily progress to the Superintendent/Senior Superintendent.
• Supervise subcontractors or plant hires and report on status and progress.
• Report on resource efficiencies.
• Uphold company standards and policies to maintain a high quality of service.
Supervise Staff
• Coach staff to enhance knowledge and experience.
• Ensure that the company’s disciplinary and grievance policies and procedures are properly applied to subordinates.
• Motivate staff to achieve buy-in on decisions made and improve productivity and efficiency.
• Communicate performance standards to subordinates.
• Track and improve performance/production against targets.
• Correct poor performance through counselling, coaching, and discipline.
Maintain Safety
• Ensure proper housekeeping and use of appropriate PPE at all times.
• Prevent staff injuries and other incidents.
• Report and assist in formulating corrective measures against all substandard acts and conditions.
• Ensure that risk assessments are conducted before all activities.
• Conduct time and attendance for all staff daily.
• Conduct Planned Task Observations daily.
Marketing and Client Relationship Management (CRM)
• Promote the image of the company by maintaining discipline at all times.
• Build and promote good relationships with client representatives.
• Record and communicate all client instructions and requirements on a daily basis with the Foreman/Production Assistant.
• Attend all client meetings as requested or instructed by the supervisor.
Financial and Cost Control
• Supervise and report availability and utilisation of people and machinery.
• Control the issuance of material and equipment and maintain proof of issuing.
• Control and maintain overtime within the requirements and roster.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.
• Tailings deposition.
EXPERIENCE
• At least 3 years experience as a Team Leader or in a supervisory role.
