Job Description
The Accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing financial records to ensure accuracy, compliance with regulations, and alignment with organizational goals. This role involves preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting in budgeting and financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Generate periodic financial reports for management review.
• Assist in preparing year-end reports and audits.
Budgeting and Forecasting
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with budgeted figures.
• Identify and report financial variances and trends.
Compliance and Audit Support
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Prepare documentation and support external and internal audits.
• Stay updated on changes in financial laws and regulations.
Financial Record Management
• Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Process invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely manner.
• Reconcile bank statements and accounts to ensure consistency.
General Accounting Duties
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Calculate and record accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
• Support payroll processing and related reporting.

Required Qualifications and Skills
Education: ACCA, CIMA, ZICA or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in accounting or a related field.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Pastel) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
