Job Summary
The Assistant Accountant will maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software and ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and analyses.
• Financial Record-Keeping: Accurately record financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and journal entries, using accounting software.
• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage supplier invoices, process payments, and oversee customer receipts.
• Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate and complete general ledger accounts.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
• Audit Support: Facilitate external audits by providing all necessary documentation and support.
• Process Improvement: Propose enhancements to financial processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Level II (ACCA, CIMA, or ZICA).
• Proven experience (2–3 years) in a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage) and MS Office.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) is mandatory.
