JOB DETAILS:
Job Description:
The CFO is a key executive management team member, responsible for leading all financial activities, shaping the organization’s financial future, and ensuring sustainable growth. This individual will oversee budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and compliance while contributing to the overall strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and provide policy/strategic guidance to the Finance Department
• Enforce a strong governance and control framework in the management of the Twangale resources
• Lead the budget and planning process including long-term strategic plans and annual operating plans
• Prepare annual budgets and monitor expenditure trends once the budget has been approved
• Control, provide guidelines, coordination, and directives in the finance and accounting activities, including preparation of monthly management accounts
• Identify opportunities for revenue growth vis-à-vis sustainable cost savings in procurement processes
• Direct and implement the company’s financial and accounting policy, and liaise closely with other departmental heads on the same
• Monitor and ensure that all financial requirements and approvals from other departments are aligned with the specific approved budget lines
• Analyze variances and initiate corrective actions
• Control and affect the cashflow to meet obligations without disturbing operations
• Check revenue collected and expenses to ensure they are correctly carried out and accounted for
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws
• Monitor current and fixed assets, maintain a fixed assets register showing all assets, and provide depreciation at acceptable rates in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards
• Supervise subordinates to ensure efficiency and ensure the development and training of subordinates to improve the standard of accounting. Attend to and provide solutions to problems/activities beyond the competence of subordinates
• Prepare weekly summary and monthly management reports outlining accounting transactions for management review
• Prepare credit monitoring analysis data and financial statements as and when required
• Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations
• Liaise with internal and external auditors
• Manage bank accounts and bank relationships
• Ensure that statutory payments for the period are settled and returns are delivered to appropriate statutory authorities by statutory requirements, avoiding penalties
• Review and analyze current IT technology and implement further improvements and upgrades if needed
• Monitor and assist HR in managing payroll and related compliances
• Ensure that information on the company’s financial performance results is compiled, and submitted to the Directors to inform correct decisions
• Compile board resolutions informed by periodic reports on company activities and present them to Directors within agreed timelines

Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other finance-related studies
• ACCA or any other approved qualification from Zambia Qualification Authority
• Member of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants
• Minimum of 5 years of senior financial management experience
• Knowledge of laws on employment, ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA, and Companies Act
