We are recruiting!
Our Client in Kitwe, Copperbelt Province is looking for an Electro-Mechanic Technician to join their team for a job vacancy within the Mining industry.

Please note that only applicants with experience working on Heavy Duty Machinery will be considered.

Job Overview
The Electro-Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heavy-duty mining machinery and equipment. This role requires a blend of mechanical and electrical expertise to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime of machinery. The Electro-Mechanic will work closely with technical teams, field service personnel, and clients to ensure that machinery
operates according and to the stipulated safety standards and operational guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Maintenance & Repairs:
o Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty machinery, including excavators, loaders, haul trucks, and drilling equipment.
o Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions and implement effective repairs.
2. Electrical Systems Troubleshooting:
o Identify and repair issues with electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, sensors, motors, and control panels.
o Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic software to troubleshoot electrical faults.
3. Mechanical Systems Troubleshooting:
o Diagnose and repair mechanical issues related to engines, hydraulic systems, transmission systems, and powertrains.
o Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble mechanical components as needed.
4. Installation & Commissioning:
o Install and commission new machinery at client sites.
o Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and configuration of mechanical and electrical components.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
o Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, repairs, and parts replacements.
o Provide accurate maintenance reports and communicate effectively with management and clients regarding machinery status.
6. Safety & Compliance:
o Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations, company policies, and client standards.
o Conduct risk assessments before beginning any repair work and adhere to proper lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
7. Client Support:
o Provide technical support and training to clients on machinery operation, maintenance, and safety practices.
o Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and reliable service.
8. Continuous Improvement:
o Identify areas for process improvement and recommend innovative solutions to reduce machinery downtime.
o Stay updated with new technologies and maintenance practices in the mining industry.

Job Specifications
Qualifications:
• Diploma or Degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Certification in electrical maintenance or equivalent is a plus.

Experience:
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience working as an electro-mechanic on heavy-duty mining machinery in a mining environment or similar set up.
• Hands-on experience with machinery such as:
o Wheel Loaders
o Excavators
o Haul Trucks
o Dozers
o Graders

Level of Education:
Bachelor Degree
