Job Overview:
We are currently seeking to hire an experienced and talented Mechanic/Driver to join our growing team. The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting physical repairs and maintenance of the entire fleet of company vehicles, preparing maintenance schedules and reports for the fleet in conjunction with the Finance & Administration Manager.
You will also assume the role of driver and make service deliveries to and from suppliers, or designated pickup areas for staff and to the hospital.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs:
• Work hand in hand with the Human Resource officer ensuring that Company Motor Vehicles are always in good and safe working conditions.
• Carry out regular motor vehicle service maintenance.
• Carry out motor vehicle repairs as requested.
• Help in recommending good quality spare parts/kits needed for motor vehicle repairs.
• Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy.
• Assist in preparing the weekly and monthly motor vehicle maintenance reports.
• Report all mechanical problems to ensure all vehicle problems are sorted out.
• Driving and Deliveries:
• Loading, transporting, and delivering bills to our clients.
• Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record and service record.
• Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Ensuring that all road Tax, Insurance, and Fitness are valid.
Qualifications:
• Valid Driver’s License (minimum class B, Class C will be an added advantage).
• Minimum Certificate in General Mechanics or TEVETA equivalent.
• At least 3 years of work experience as a mechanic and/or driver.
• Valid Police clearance report (within the last 6 months).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
