About the job Relationship Manager
A Relationship Manager is responsible for building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients or customers. They ensure clients are satisfied with the company’s services and products, identify growth opportunities, and address any issues that arise. Their role can be found across various industries, including banking, insurance, finance, and corporate sectors. The incumbent is key to maintaining long-term, mutually beneficial client relationships and driving business success through client satisfaction and strategic growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Relationship Management:
• Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to foster loyalty and retention.
• Understand clients’ needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their business objectives.
• Ensure clients receive high-quality service and support, acting as the primary point of contact.
Sales and Business Development:
• Identify new business opportunities, cross-selling additional products to the existing client base and upselling additional products or services to clients.
• Work closely with the sales team to achieve sales targets and business growth objectives.
• Conduct regular meetings with clients to assess satisfaction and introduce new offerings.
Customer Support and Issue Resolution:
• Proactively address any client concerns or issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Liaise with other departments (e.g., customer service, technical support) to resolve client queries or challenges.
Account Management:
• Manage the overall performance of client accounts, ensuring they are managed effectively.
• Monitor and track account activities, providing clients with updates and performance reports.
• Ensure that clients are using the products or services efficiently and in a way that maximizes value.
Strategic Planning:
• Work with clients to set and achieve short-term and long-term business goals.
• Develop strategies for customer engagement and relationship growth.
• Analyse client data and market trends to offer insights and advice.
Collaboration and Networking:
• Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, operations, finance) to deliver on client expectations.
• Attend industry events, networking opportunities, and conferences to build a strong professional network.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field is typically required.
• Prior experience of 2-5 years in customer service, sales, or account management
• Experience in the relevant industry (e.g., banking, financial services, insurance, etc.) is an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage client relationships.
• Proven ability to generate sales, negotiate contracts, and identify growth opportunities.
• Ability to handle client issues with sensitivity and professionalism.
• Efficiently manage multiple clients, ensuring their needs are met promptly.
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and present actionable insights.
• Strong commitment to providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
